"CIMSPA welcomed the findings of the 2021 report. This insightful research was the first significant move to shed light on the mental health of professionals working in fitness and active leisure. We're delighted to be supporting the 2022 survey to continue to help the sector develop its approach to workplace mental health and support the wellbeing of the workforce."
Tara Dillon, CEO, CIMSPA
"The State of Mind Survey is an excellent initiative that we are very pleased to be supporting. The leisure and activity sector plays a major role in helping members and participants access activity to support good mental health. However, it’s of paramount importance that the feelings and concerns of everyone working in this sector are also heard and acted upon."

2021 Survey & Results
Our inaugural survey in January 2021 saw us survey the fitness and active leisure workforce to explore both individual and organisational perspectives and experiences of mental health - the first nation-wide research of its kind in the sector.
We heard from 1140 people and 81 organisations across a broad range of contexts.
And it was timely.
More than half of respondents reported that they experienced a mental health issue in the last 12 months and more than two thirds 'at some point'. You can download the report and recommendations for free - just fill in the form.
